Wow, lesson learnt.
This past weekend my girlfriend and I decided to head to Smith Rock State Park for some good ole fashioned fun. We weren’t expecting much due to the cold and snow but we were not disappointed. The park itself is BEAUTIFUL and we eagerly got on the “Misery Ridge Trail” not thinking too much of it. The thought being; we could walk to the top of the park and watch the sunset from the top. Sounds good right? It wasn’t. Our first hint should have been the trail leading up to the top. The sun doesn’t hit much of the trail so almost all of the steep incline is pure ice.
