The real estate industry has been on a spiral growth since 2018, according to KNBS Economic Survey 2020, In 2019, the real estate sector in Kenya recorded a growth rate of 5.3 percent, which is 1.2 percentage points higher than 4.1 percent growth rate recorded in 2018.

The retail sector, however, has registered a 0.1 percent points drop in rental yields to 7.7 percent in the first quarter of 2020, from 7.8 percent in the last three months of 2019.
With many countries recovering from the effects of the pandemic, the industry will have to engage in measures to ensure survival and growth of the sector.
